Well this is a big one! It was so hard to cull images for Solene and Toby’s blog post as it was literally amazing and I didn’t want to leave out anything!
They both started the day getting ready at their parents houses about 10 minutes apart from each other. It was so much fun to capture the prep for both bride and groom, there were just so many people in each house, it was just such a family atmosphere. I knew this would be a wedding that stayed with me for a long time.
Solene and Toby got married at The Blue Coat School in Edgbaston, not a venue many people are allowed to get wed at which made it all the more special!
The bride wore a satin 30s inspired floor length gown with fresh cut flowers in her hair and her bridesmaids wore white with her. The groom wore navy and his guys wore grey, all finished off with matching ties.
The service they had was one of the most joyous and wonderful I’ve ever attended. Full of song and prayer, their guests danced and sang in the pews and Solene’s friend even flew in from Canada to play a piece on the piano she had written for Solene to enter the church to! A lady got up and sang a solo without any backing music which actually made me cry because it was so beautiful. The whole ceremony was full of the most amazing uplifting music and the atmosphere was fantastic, certainly not the ‘usual’ church service I have experienced in my wedding photography career thats for sure!
After the ceremony and a 200 person strong confetti line, the party moved to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery . Such an unusual venue for a wedding reception, we really managed to get some one of a kind shots on the evening.
LOVED every second of this wedding. As a photographer, being hired to document a wedding day is something I find so truly humbling. I think its sometimes a bit weird for families to have a stranger there with them for the whole day, being a part of these one of a kind memories that they are making. Both Solene and Toby’s friends and family welcomed me in with open arms and in doing so allowed me to capture some beautiful moments for them. I honestly felt like one of the family by the end of the night!! I wish you both all the happiness in the world Solene and Toby, thank you for letting me be a part of your day 🙂
